Local and International Volunteers Working Together to Restore Sight.
This July, Lamu Center for Preventative Health (LCPH) is proud to host another volunteer eye clinic, bringing together local and international healthcare professionals with one shared purpose—to restore sight and improve lives.
Over the course of one week, our team expects to provide comprehensive eye care services to 500 patients from across Lamu County. Patients will receive free eye examinations, vision screenings, glaucoma screening, evaluation for common eye diseases, and prescription eyeglasses at no cost.
For many individuals, this clinic represents their first opportunity to receive professional eye care. Improved vision can transform daily life by helping children succeed in school, enabling adults to work more safely and productively, and allowing older adults to maintain their independence.
This year’s clinic is made possible through the dedication of our volunteer providers and support staff, who have traveled from around the world to serve alongside our local healthcare team. We are especially grateful to the Lions Club of Canada for their generous donation of eyeglasses, helping ensure that hundreds of patients will leave with improved vision.
The July 2026 Eye Clinic reflects LCPH’s commitment to delivering compassionate, culturally responsive healthcare while building lasting partnerships between local and international volunteers. Together, we are not only restoring sight—we are strengthening our community and creating hope for a healthier future.
Thank you to our volunteers, donors, and partners whose generosity continues to make this work possible.more.
